The UK has long traditions in teaching English as a foreign language and offers numerous opportunities. You can always find a course to match your specific needs and requirements.

The British Council, together with ENGLIH UK, runs an accreditation system of the language schools which guarantees the quality of the services provided. The list of the accredited schools can be found at www.educationuk.org/english

There are offers for teaching at all levels - from beginners to advanced with courses covering General English, English for academic purposes, Pre-university courses, English for specific purposes (English for Business, English for Tourism, English for Hotel management), English plus work experience, Vacation courses for young learners and adults, etc.

The teaching is learner-centred and communicative. After a placement test procedure you will be placed in the correct class for your level.

The price in GBP offered by schools for a week varies in accordance with the type and location of the particular school, the number of students in a group, the number of teaching hours per week, the length of course, the type of course - General English or English for specific purposes.

The course fee does not cover the airplane ticket, accommodation and food, travelling within the UK and within the city you will be staying in, entertainment, excursions, etc.
All Bulgarian citizens need a UK entry visa which will be issued providing the course you will be attending consists of at least 15 teaching hours per week.

The applicants have to provide evidence that they can pay the course fee and their subsistence for the period of their stay in the UK without having to work.

When applying for a visa, you will also need a confirmation letter from the school showing that you have been enrolled in a course and have paid a certain fee.
