Look Ahead - Beginner - Intermediate

This is a self - study, multiple - media course designed for adults and teenagers who wish to develop general English for travel, business and pleasure, or to prepare for the Cambridge Key and Preliminary English Exams.

Language includes British and American English, and is presented through entertaining drama, interviews, animation and graphics, with extensive pracrtice and testing. The two stages of the course (Stage A: Units 1 - 30 & Stage B: Units 31 - 60) take the learner from Beginner to Intermediate level, and can be used independenly or in sequence.

BBC 1, 2, 3

BBC 1,2,3 is an authoritative three-stage course from Beginner to Upper Intermediate level . It was specifically designed for home study. Instructions and explanations in the book are given in the learner's own language, making the materials accessible and relevant. Each stage is complete in itself and consists of a course book and four audiocassettes. By the end of the third stage, students will have made the important jump from the controlled, graded language of a teaching course to the English used in everyday life.

• BBC 1 uses an active vocabulary of about 800 words and takes the learner up to the Waystage Level defined by the Council of Europe.
• BBC 2 is a natural progression from BBC1, though it can also be used by learners who have already reached an Elementary standard in English.
• BBC 3 helps to bridge the gap between graded language and real-life English, and covers the basics of the Council of Europe's Threshold Level.
