It all began in 1971, when Riversdown House became the world’s first language training centre to use the Residential Concept.
The Riversdown House estate is set in grounds of about 20 hectares, deep in the Hampshire countryside, just 60 miles south-west of London. The main house, which dates back to the 14th century, has been restored but has preserved all the original features of the interior design.
The founder of Riversdown House - Richard Lewis, who was the private English language tutor of the Japanese royal family, is a famous linguist and one of the world’s leading cross-cultural thinkers.
  
At Riversdown House your learning is based on individual face-to-face sessions. Outside the formal training you communicate in English with your trainers and other course participants. You can also enjoy the 9-hole PGA-approved golf course, the tennis courts, authentic Finnish sauna and other facilities.
